Burger #39 – Peanut Butter Burger (Darrell’s)

One burger fad that I have never been completely sold on is the use of peanut butter. I love both peanut butter and burgers so it would make sense that I would love them together, but that hasn’t necessarily been the case. That being said, I believe that somewhere out there is a burger with peanut butter on it that will blow my away. I decided to head to Darrell’s for their take on this combination. Located at 5576 Fenwick Street, Darrell’s Peanut Butter Burger has become a well known thing around Halifax, so I figured it was only right to start my search here.

Burger #38 – Beef & Blue Burger (Stubborn Goat)

When I first visited Stubborn Goat, I didn’t have the experience I had quite hoped for. I had heard so much hype about this new addition to the Halifax restaurant scene so when the burger I ordered wasn’t the greatest, I was sure that this was just a fluke and I knew I had to come back again and give them another shot. During Burger Week I visited them again to try their Hellfire Burger, and I was really happy with my experience on this return visit (even if the spiciness of the burger brought tears to my eyes). I decided it was time to go back and try another one of their burgers, this time the Beef & Blue Burger.

Burger #32 – Smokehouse Burger (Clay West)

Like what I have to say? Be sure to go to The Coast website and vote for Life of Burgers for Best Food Blogger!

After completing my run as Burger Ambassador for Halifax Burger Week, I had a list of places that I wanted to go back and check out, one of which was Clay West Bar & Grill. Located at 120 Susie Lake Crescent in Bayers Lake, this was one of the spots that I wanted to return to so I could try one of their regular menu burgers mostly because I enjoyed their Burger Week contribution. After a bit of back and forth between burgers, I finally chose the Smokehouse Burger.

Burger #30 – Smokehouse (2 Doors Down)

Halifax may be still recovering from the layer of ice that it was covered in recently, but that doesn’t mean the burger life has to slow down any! As of late, there has been a lot of burger excitement throughout Halifax with the upcoming Halifax Burger Week. The Coast is once again doing their Burger Week from March 19th – 25th, which is a great opportunity to both try some of the best restaurants in the city, as well as stuff your face with as many different burgers as possible. Right now, you can even go on Twitter or Instagram and show your support for who you think should be the Burger Ambassador for the week (maybe a certain Halifax-based burger blogger *wink wink nudge nudge*), which gives two lucky people the chance to cover burger week, and report back to the public all the meaty details!

With Burger Week on the mind, it is a perfect time for me to get my next burger, which just so happens to be #30! For this one, I decided to go with a burger, that is one of the ones that gets most recommended to me, from the downtown restaurant 2 Doors Down. Located at 1533 Barrington Street, 2DD is still a fairly new addition to Halifax, but has received many rave reviews from Halifax diners. After hearing lots of praise for it, I knew it was time to get myself a Smokehouse burger.

Burger #26 – Cannon Burger (The Loose Cannon)

My second favourite thing about getting to do this blog, the first being that I get to eat really tasty burgers, is that it takes me to new places that I have never been to before. This was the case with burger #26. Located at 1566 Argyle Street, The Loose Cannon is a place that I have walked past numerous times, but never actually walked through the doors. Since they only have one burger on their menu, I knew I was going to be trying their Cannon Burger.

Burger #25 – South Western (Flipburger)

With the cold weather approaching, there is nothing like a tasty burger to warm you up, or at least fill your stomach with some delicious meaty goodness. Looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch, I headed back to 1565 Argyle Street, where Flipburger is located. With multiple signature burgers to pick from, I decided it was time to cross the South Western off my list.

Burger #23 – Whiskey Smoke Burger (Durty Nelly’s)

Since I started doing this blog, I’ve had a lot of people suggest different burgers to me that they think could be top contenders. One of these recommended places was Durty Nelly’s. Located at 1660 Argyle Street, Durty Nelly’s is a popular spot for both eating and drinking, which tends to be the case for most establishments on Argyle. The burger that I went with for this visit is titled the Whiskey Smoke Burger.

Burger #21 – Ranch House Burger (Mexicali Rosa’s)

First off, I just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone that has been reading my blog and relaying really nice messages to me about it. What started out as an excuse to eat a bunch of burgers has slowly become an exciting hobby for myself, and I’m glad you guys enjoy hearing what I have to say!

Now for the real reason you are here – Burger #21! I’m slowly making my way through the many burgers that Spring Garden has to offer, and this time it was Mexicali Rosa’s turn. Located at 5472 Spring Garden Road, Mexicali Rosa’s is known for their Mexican-inspired cuisine and delicious margarita options. They also have a few “North of the Border” options, which includes the Ranch House Burger.

Burger #20 – The Great Grilled Cheese Burger (Montana’s)

While out doing some shopping in Bayers Lake, the burger hunger hit me and I knew it was time for #20. I decided to go to Montana’s, located at 196 Chain Lake Drive, to see what they had to offer for burgers. They had a few to choose from but I ultimately decided on The Great Grilled Cheese Burger.

Burger #19 – Everything Burger (The Argyle)

While a classic burger can be a pretty good time, sometimes you need a burger that sounds so crazy that it may just be super delicious. The Argyle, located at 1575 Argyle Street, has a burger on their menu that is so jam-packed full of toppings that it is borderline outrageous. This burger is appropriately named the Everything Burger.
