Veggie Burger Series – Part 1

Since starting Life of Burgers, it’s safe to say that I have eaten more meat than I probably should have in the past few years, and while beef will always be my main squeeze, the time has come to give veggie burgers their turn in the spotlight.

Maybe you don’t eat meat, or maybe you’re still recovering from Halifax Burger Week (with possibly some PEI Burger Love thrown in there if you’re anything like me). Whatever you reason, veggie burgers are not only a healthier choice (most of the time) over the more meaty options, but they also open up a whole new world of unique burgers, and it just so happens that a lot of restaurants in Halifax have some pretty creative ones on their menus!

Keep reading to see just a few of the great meatless burgers available in Halifax that I’ve tried so far, in Part 1 of the Veggie Burger Series!

Halifax Burger Week 2017 Preview – Part 1

We are now only 1 week away from the beginning of one of my favourite times of the year! Halifax Burger Week is back again for it’s 5th year, and the awesome team over at The Coast has rounded up over 95 restaurants to participate in the most burger-filled week Halifax has ever seen!

There is a wide range of burger choices for you to choose from this year, ranging from beef to lamb to veggie, and even kangaroo, and with all these patty options comes a HUGE variety of original topping combinations. With this massive amount of burgers to choose from, picking which ones you will try can be a difficult task, but I’m here to hopefully make your decisions a little easier with the Halifax Burger Week Preview Series – 2017 Edition!

I’ve had the pleasure of trying a lot of great Burger Week burgers so far, and I’m going to showcase each one in this series so you can get an early look at some of the meaty (and not so meaty) greatness you have to look forward to come March 23rd. Starting things off with Part 1 are burgers from Durty Nelly’s, Krave, and Cheese Curds!

Burger #31 – Southwestern Burger (The Argyle)

Life of Burgers is back! After a couple months of special circumstances (recovering from Burger Week and some major tech issues) with no reviews, I have returned to make it up to my readers!

Now that I’m back, I’m ready for a burger-filled summer, and sharing my findings with you guys. I recently headed back to The Argyle, where one of my favourite burgers thus far comes from. Located at 1575 Argyle Street, The Argyle is one of the many restaurants that are extremely popular during “patio season”. For my second visit, I went with the Southwestern Burger.

Burger #10 – Ultimate Burger (Henry House)

Well, I’ve made it to #10 and I’m still going strong! For this burger, I went over to Henry House, located at 1222 Barrington Street, which has become a fairly popular spot for beer and food enthusiasts alike. I had never been inside this place before, but had walked past the outdoor patio many times where everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Having a few burgers to choose from, I decided to go with the Ultimate Burger.
