With the week being over, Burger Week has now come to an end, but don’t be sad just yet! You can still take a look at the last 8 burgers I tried, and see what I thought of the (mostly) delicious creations!
Also, stay tuned for my Burger Week Wrap-Up, where I’ll give my Top 3 burgers of the week, as well as some other ones worth mentioning!
Burger: Slow-roasted pulled pork burger with chunky apple and onion chutney and jalapeno mayo on a locally made bun
Burger Week is now over halfway done, and it doesn’t seem like Halifax is slowing their consumption down anytime soon. With the end of the week in sight, I have been adding more and more burgers to my list, to the point of not knowing how I will make time, or stomach space, to try them. However, I will be pushing until the end of Day 7 to make sure I get to experience all the ones that I want to.
For now, I’m back to give you a look at 8 more burgers I have tried, and hopefully it will point you in the right direction in terms of burger choices. Trust me when I say that you’re going to want to read this one, because there is some awesome burgers this time around!
Burger: Donair Burger – Flipburger’s famous patty topped with Tony’s Famous Donair meat, plus onions, tomatoes and Flipburger’s own chipotle mayo
Burger Week is now in full swing, and everyone is talking about what burgers they love, and which ones fell short. I have been powering through multiple burgers a day, and I figured I would give my thoughts on the burgers I’ve tackled.
My time has mostly been devoted to eating burgers, and laying down after eating burgers, so my thoughts here are mostly going to be right to the point. Let me know if you agree, or disagree, with anything I have to say on the first six burgers (I love a good burger debate)!
2 Doors Down
Burger: The Dragon Burger – Red dragon sauce, kimchi coleslaw, Dutchman’s Dragon’s Growl spread and cilantro mayo
The glory, the fame, the meat sweats. These are all things that come with the highly sought after role of Halifax Burger Ambassador. As last year’s Ambassador, I know firsthand how awesome it is to fill this role, and it really made my Burger Week a memorable experience. Parading around Halifax with my burger sash and Team LOB, I had people coming up to me everywhere to talk burgers and take pictures, and ask the very popular question: “Are you really going to eat them all?!”. Well, I did eat them all and I lived to tell about it, but with a new Burger Week on its way, it is time to pass the torch on to this year’s Burger Ambassadors!
Given my status as Ambassador Alumni, The Coast asked me to find out more about this year’s new burger-loving Ambassadors, and how they plan on tackling the meatiest week of the year!
The restaurants are prepping, people are making their lists, and the beer is being chilled. It is now only 2 sleeps until Halifax Burger Week, and the excitement is real! I have my burger schedule all ready to go, and while it doesn’t include every burger like last year, it is definitely filled with some delicious-sounding ones that I can’t wait to try. I’ve been lucky enough to already try a bunch of the burgers being offered this year, and you’ve read all about them in Parts 1-3. Now it’s time to give you 3 more options, all of which you’re probably going to want to add to your own lists.
Here’s what The Armview, Durty Nelly’s, and Indochine Banh Mi are going to being cooking up and serving to you this Burger Week!
We are now a mere 4 days away from one of my favourite events of the year! Come this Friday, Halifax Burger Week will be in full swing, and restaurants will be packed with burger-lovers wanting to sink their teeth into the many great creations that this city has come up with.
So with the week being within reach, I’m back with Part 3 of the Burger Week Preview Series, and this time I’m giving you 4 burgers to feast your eyes on. Take a look at what The Fireside, Gahan House, The Foggy Goggle, and Relish will be cooking up for you this year!
Burger Week is now only 5 days away, and I can almost taste all the delicious burgers (maybe because I actually have tasted some of them already). I know you are all eager to get out there and get eating, so I’m here with Part 2 of the Halifax Burger Week Preview Series (you can see Part 1 here) to get your mouths watering and your stomachs growling with some tasty burger details! In this part, I highlight three more burgers from Ardmore Tea Room, Primal Kitchen, and Fickle Frog!

Burger: Doughnut Burger – Maple sausage patty, fried egg, American cheese, tomato, spicy mayo and doughnut bun
It’s that time of year again! Halifax Burger Week is now less than a week away, and social media is buzzing with excitement. With 59 restaurants participating last year, I didn’t think that this event could get any bigger, but The Coast got to work and they have a whopping 79 restaurants involved this year! With more options to choose from than ever, I wanted to give an early look into some of the delicious burgers that you can sink your teeth into this upcoming March 18th-24th.
I had a great response from restaurants that wanted to be involved, so much so that I’m breaking this ‘Preview Series’ up into multiple parts! For the premiere, I’ve included the Burger Week offerings from Krave Burger, Niche Lounge, and Hali Deli. From what I’ve experienced so far, it’s looking like this year’s Burger Week is going to be extremely tasty! But enough with the talk! Here are the first three burgers in the Life of Burgers Halifax Burger Week 2016 Preview!
Well, Halifax Burger Week has come and gone, and man was it a meaty adventure! This year the city of Halifax had 59 different burgers to offer for the week, and I managed to try every single one of them. That’s right, I devoted my whole week to this endeavour and I was determined to conquer the week!
It all started with a contest that was put on by The Coast to find two “Burger Ambassadors” who would be in charge of going out and documenting their Halifax Burger Week experience through Twitter and Instagram. They wanted to see your “burger selfie”, and even though I did that, it was only the beginning of my quest to become Ambassador.
The final day of Burger Week had finally come, and I was both sad and relieved to be ending this meaty journey. Either way, there was still 7 burgers standing in the way of me reaching my goal, so we ventured back into this wonderful city. Joining me on Day #7 was Don, Olivia, Nadine, Rachel, Ryan, and Jordan.
Burger #53 – Lumberjack Burger from Kempster’s
We started the day off with a breakfast of burger proportions. Between the French-toasted bun, was a breakfast fit for a king, or in this case, a Burger Ambassador. The egg was a very welcome addition (as always), and there was tons of bacon piled on top of the cheesy patty. The maple mayo was super delicious, and it was as if the burger had maple syrup drizzled on it. The French-toasted bun was great, and it provided an inventive alternative to your typical toasted bun. This burger, with it breakfast influences, was a really tasty time.
